Cabo del Sol

Cabo Del Sol is an 1,800-acre land preserve located 10 kilometers north of Cabo San Lucas, BCS, Mexico. The property features four kilometers of continuous beach frontage along the Sea of Cortez and extends back into the rocky topography to 340 meters above sea level. This family office owned master plan has a multitude of condominium land developments, including four branded resort hotels, two world-class golf courses, several residential communities, and the exclusive private residential Cove Club.

Mr. Kernodle directed, reviewed, and managed all the ownership’s creative interests for the hotel, resort, and residential projects during his tenure, addressing the following three development aspects.

Four Seasons Resort Cabo San Lucas – Guided the project through programing and schematic design by working with the ownership and designers to ensure the design of the 94-key hotel and 44 brand residential units remained within the parameters of the program and budget. Hotel scheduled to open in 2022.

Cove Development – Guided the residential redesign and construction documentation as a quarter of the Cabo Del Sol development converted into a private residential community called the Cove Club. The 350 plus residential homesites have access to numerous amenities that include a private golf course, beach club, community park, racket facilities and the Four Seasons Resort.

Cabo Del Sol Community – As President of the Association Design Review Committee, supervised all the community design activities which included the continued development of the overall community as well as chairing the committee in daily review and compliance activities.
